What brought you here?
It is said that once you step onto the path there is no turning back. This has been true for me in the incredible twenty-five years since I first discovered the body-mind teachings of two traditions, Hatha Yoga and Engaged Buddhism. The latter would become a discipline and a life’s calling as a dharmācarya, teacher of the way of understanding and love. What I love about this path is that although I now have the title of “teacher” the ancient word that this title comes from means “one who practices.” This means that the path of a teacher is one of continuing practice as well.
You may have found this page because you are on a similar journey. Together, if we choose to forge a connection through body-mind practice, we can continually soften, deepen, and cultivate the skills needed to be a beacon and a refuge for those seeking the path as we have.
What is body-mind practice?
Body-mind practice can be as simple as coming back to our breath, our steps, or a single sensation we are attentive to that can help bring us back to this ever-changing moment. The path as my teachers have transmitted to me should not be too difficult or complicated. This path is a simple way of life. Though not easy, there can be ease.
